The Light-Fruit Connection

Ephesians 5 speaks of the 'fruit of light.' We don't normally see light as something that bears fruit and yet, 'fruit of light' is true even in the natural. Fruit comes from trees which need light to produce. When you eat that fruit, you get energy. That energy you get from fruit comes from sunlight. So in a sense, life is the fruit of sunlight, and the energy of life is sunlight stored. We can't live without light. Thus we live and move because of natural light. Life comes from light. It's the fruit of light. And as the sun is to the physical world, the Son of God, Messiah is to the spiritual. He's the real Light. If you're not receiving His Light, you don't have real life. If you want real life that produces real fruit, it begins with a real Light. For life is the fruit of Light. All that is good in life: love, joy, peace, faithfulness and goodness, it's all the fruit of Light. So soak up the rays of God's love and your life will be fruitful - filled with the fruit of Light.
