He Has Already Spoken

Friday, January 31, 2025

Throughout the Scriptures, it says, "Thus says the Lord." We take that to mean the Lord is saying something. But when you read, "Thus says the Lord," the Hebrew word used is "Amar." Amar doesn't just mean thus "says" the Lord, it means thus "has said" the Lord. There's a big difference. Amar is the past tense or the perfect tense. It means the Lord has already said - it's already done - it's already finished. It's not the future or the present tense, it's the perfect tense. It's already perfectly established. The Word of God is perfect, it's finished, and it's done. When God says something, you can put your complete trust and faith in His Word. For when you take the Word of God and the promises of God, there's no question, there's no if, and there's no maybe. Amar means it's settled, sealed, finished, and accomplished. So stand on the Word. Hold to the Word and believe in it. Be confident in the Word. For the Word- the promise and the assurance of God- is as good as done. Thus says the Lord, the Lord has spoken.
