The Bikoreem of Time

One of the key concepts of the Hebrew Scriptures is the Bikoreem - the Firstfruits. Israel was called the Bikoreem, Firstborn of God. The Israelites were to offer the firstfruits of their flocks to the Lord. Messiah Himself is called the Bikoreem - the firstfruits of the dead. And the day He rose was called Yom Ha Bikoreem... the Day of the Firstfruits. The principle or law of the Firstfruits was this - the firstfruits of everything belonged to the Lord. You gave the first part of your blessings to God and by doing so you were dedicating and sanctifying all the rest. Now you have a new year before you. What kind of year do you want it to be? What kind of year do you need it to be? Lift up the Bikoreem to the Lord. It's the first hours, the first day, the first week, the first part of the New Year. Take new steps3 in repentance, in spreading the Gospel, in living holy, in winning the victory. You want a good and victorious year? Then start it now. Lift up your Bikoreem and the year will be blessed.
